Much nicer when the cafe was open. Not sure if we will visit again and are considering not renewing membership. How much can the cafe have cost anyway?

What a lovely place with friendly staff. It was chilly when we went so we used the huts, which are fab. We saw a number of birds. My favourite was Timothy

Beautiful place, but sad that now both cafe and adventure playground are closed until further notice. This makes it much less accessible for families.

Paying for parking is bang out of order £5.50 for two hours, so we left.

Had a splendid time surveying over-wintering mosquitoes here. An absolute gem of a place to reconnect with nature only a short train ride from central London. Can't wait to come back once the weather is warmer

Was always a lovely place run by volunteers, but now the very rich CEO has closed the cafe and shop, time to stop membership

The ambience at Rainham Marshes RSPB reserve was rather ethereal on Sunday. The contrast between the marsh and the metropolis (not far way) was captivating. Part of the reason for visiting was to buy a new pair of binoculars. We were given brilliant advice by the reserve's volunteer 'expert' and ended up buying a pair at sale price. Unfortunately the shop is about to close (as is the shop at Dungeness)
This is a real shame

A fantastic opportunity to escape into this oasis of tranquility and absorb the pleasures of nature so close to London.
Facilities here are excellent and the Visitor Centre stands out as a world class venue for public education in appreciation of birdwatching, wildlife in general.
